East Head Reservoir, also known as East Head Pond, 92 acres, is within the Myles Standish State Forest. The reservoir is the headwaters of the Wankinco River. 

Myles Standish State Forest covers an area of 26,000 acres and is the largest publicly owned recreation area in southeastern Massachusetts. The forest offers a variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, camping, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. The forest is also home to diverse wildlife, including deer, coyotes, turkeys, and rare species of moths and butterflies. The forest was named after Myles Standish, a military leader of the Plymouth Colony who helped establish the first settlements in the area.
