Sandusky River Important Bird Area
Fremont Reservoir is 100 acres and was officially opened to the public in May 2013. It has been holding water to a depth of 30 feet since late March 2013. It could be an exciting venue in time, as it is right in the middle of the overland flyway from Sandusky Bay to southwest Ohio. It is close enough to Lake Erie to attract gulls, as do the reservoirs at Oberlin and Findlay.
The Fremont Reservoir is adjacent to Portage Trail Park and the Sandusky River.
