If you carefully keep your bird records by county, be sure to use the specific hotspots at Rumney Marsh so that the birds will be assigned to the proper county. The Suffolk-Essex county line is in the Pines River.

About this Location

Rumney Marsh is a 600-acre salt marsh located within the Saugus and Pines River Inlet. Visitors can bird watch, fish, and boat. The marsh is an important site for flood control, water quality improvement, and recreation. Rumney Marsh is part of the Saugus and Pines River Marshes Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC), which protects its ecological and historical values.

There are parking lots on Ballard Street and Bristow Street. There is no pull-off parking allowed on MA-107.
