A playa is a shallow depression that occasionally becomes a shallow lake with rainfall. Playas in the Texas Panhandle are invaluable resources for wintering waterfowl.

There are three playas at this hotspot. Two on the east side of U.S. Hwy. 87 and one on the west side.

A spotting scope would be helpful at this location.

Winter waterfowl.

It is possible to pull off onto Farm to Market 3332 and park on the shoulder to scope the playas.
