Pine Tree is 144-acre preserve featuring a loop trail of approximately one mile. About half way around the loop, a logging road extends about one-half mile further up to the northern property line, offering the possibility of a two-mile moderate hike. The generally forested habitat includes several old gravel pits which have become ponds as well as some wetlands. The preserve is rich in flora and fauna; an occasional beaver and moose have been sighted, as well as a wide variety of birdlife. Mixed hardwoods are interspersed with evergreens and the forest floor is thickly carpeted with wildflowers and ferns.
