The best birding from this park is on the Waxahachie Creek Hike and Bike Trail during the spring migration.

Passerines. But there are often a few Barred Owls. 

Lions Park, 28 acres has a pavilion, restroom, 2 playgrounds, 4 softball fields, and 10 soccer fields. 

There is easy access to walk or ride along the beautiful, curvy path of Waxahachie Creek and scenic woods. The linear Waxahachie Creek Hike and Bike Trail stretches for four miles from Getzendaner Park through the city’s historic cemetery to Lion Park. 

The Waxahachie Creek Hike and Bike Trail is at the end of Lions Park. This trail is about 4 miles long and begins at Getzendaner Park.
