Migliazzo Lake

Migliazzo Lake

About this Location

Migliazzo Lake (2 acres) is part of 12-acre Carl Migliazzo City Park, offering a playground, fishing, and a paved walking trail. The park is named after Carl Migliazzo (1918-1981), a former Kansas City Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioner and Board President of Truman Medical Center (now University Health). A historic marker at the southeastern corner explains that the park is part of the former 1,000-acre Marcus Gill Farm, which was at the western boundary of the United States when purchased in 1854. On-street parking is available on Pennsylvania Avenue between Glen Arbor Terrace and 119th Terrace.

Notable Trails

A one-half mile paved walking trail begins at Summit Street between 120th Terrace and 121st Street, crosses the dam, and turns north along the eastern side of the lake. The trail continues north along a riparian corridor to Minor Drive.
