Suntaug Lake covers an area of about 70 acres and has a maximum depth of 20 feet. The lake is fed by several streams and drains into the Ipswich River. Suntaug Lake is surrounded by residential and commercial development, but it also has some natural areas and parks along its shoreline. The lake is managed by the Peabody Conservation Commission and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.

Suntaug Lake is located at the intersection of US-1 and I-95. Newhall Park is on the south end of the lake. Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery is north of the lake.
