Wharton County's first Limpkin was discovered on the December 2, 2023 birdwalk and was also seen again on the December 21, 2023 Christmas Bird Count. Bald Eagle's nest on the property

The property has several man-made lakes and a variety of other habitats that attracts a variety of birds. Walking is relatively easy along the tops of the levees surrounding the lakes.
