In recent years (2020-2023) there has been a Bald Eagle nest on private land that can be seen to the east, from the paved road, just after the road heads south and is still viewable at road's end. The oak savanna has Yellow-billed Magpies, and sometimes Cassin's Kingbird, Phainopepla, or Lawrence's Goldfinch
Beyond the oak savanna birds mentioned, in wet years the swampy area may have ducks, rails, and if conditions are right, waders in migration (once there was a Solitary Sandpiper). If the little lake that one can see up the slope beyond the swampy area, near the gated end, has water, there may be Wood Duck.
Argyle Road is a short paved road, eastwards off Jolon Road, that makes one curve, heading south, crosses a marshy area (wet in rainy years, dry in droughts) and then heads upslope and it then closed to the public at a gate. All the surrounding land is private.
