A scope is recommended to view waterfowl, gulls, herons, swallows, and (at times) shorebirds from the park.
This bayou of the Kalamazoo River can host a variety of waterbirds. Previously, low water levels exposed mudflats that were excellent for shorebirds, including a Curlew Sandpiper in 2013. However, water levels have been higher since then, covering the mudflats.
Located at the east end of Center Street in Douglas. There is a kayak launch and a gazebo which is a good place to watch from.
