About this Location

A 73-acre park, located off Blacks Bluff Road, and listed on the National Registry of Historical Landmarks, Lock and Dam offers some of the best crappie and striper fishing in North Georgia. Also with access to adjacent 229 acre Coosa River Nature Preserve which is owned by Georgia Department of Natural Resources but managed by Rome Floyd Parks and Recreation. Nature Preserve can be accessed from trail within park by crossing bridge in the primitive campground.

 The park is prepared for both RV and primitive tent camping. Select sites feature direct sewer hook-up, river views, picnic pavilions and shelter, fire rings, restroom, shower and laundry facilities, fishing and nature trails. Other amenities include horseshoe pits, open play areas and an observation overlook.

The Coosa River Trading Post offers fishing and camping supplies, an exhibition center, live bait, tackle, fishing and hunting licenses and a boat ramp.

Starting August 1, 2022, the Lock and Dam Park will be cashless. Card or mobile wallet is the only accepted form of payment. Daily Parking fee is $2 and boat launch fee is $3.
