Official WebsiteOne of the best places to find birds at this park is in the forested portion which goes near Grassy West Pond. Birders should familiarize themselves with the boundaries of this park before accessing the forested walking trails as there are several private parcels nearby of which the boundaries are not posted. The Massachusetts GIS Database has an open space layer that shows the boundaries of this park. In general, to avoid issues with adjacent properties, it is best to view Grassy West Pond further back on the trail closer to the park where there is a vista (which is the best viewing point of the pond) instead of going directly up to the pond.
The John "Jack" Medeiros Memorial Recreation Area is a recreational park with a baseball and soccer field, a picnic area, a playground, and a small wooded walking trail that leads to the Grassy West Pond. There is an outhouse available for most (if not all) of the year. People with Electric Vehicles (EVs) will enjoy the EV charging station in the parking lot of this park.
