Mounces Meadow, Marshfield

About this Location

Mounces Meadow is a conservation land dedicated to agricultural pursuits, with 35 acres of open fields, bordered by forest. Home of Marshfield’s Community Gardens, Mounces Meadow features large garden plots, suitable for gardeners with prior experience and for families. Additional fields are rented to local farmers.

Mounces Meadow shares a driveway with Mounce Farm, a private residence that opens its (mostly Macintosh) apple orchards to the public for one or two weekends in September.

Participation requires a small fee, plus communal chore hours. Garden plots are 20’x15′ and 20’x30′. All gardens must be maintained with organic practices and materials. For an application, visit the Marshfield Agricultural Commission Community Gardens page.

No trails. Please be mindful of private property. There is a private residence at the end of the unpaved road.

Mounces Meadow lies within the watershed of Two Mile Brook, which flows through four manmade mill ponds before emptying into the North River downstream of the property.
