Tips for Birding

The level of this pond can vary wildly depending on the amount of rain from the monsoon season. When a decent amount is present, there are always ducks in the winter. and shorebirds during migration, mainly in Autumn since the rains usually fall from late July to September. Pulling off of the road to the east is best. Please use as much of the shoulder as possible and please turn off vehicle to avoid accidentally starting any fires.

Birds of Interest

About this Location

Another location just 6.8 miles north of this pond is a leaking cement 5 foot high tank on the east side. That place should be a Hotspot. It is one of the best views for Black-chinned Sparrow and Varied Bunting, Golden-crowned Sparrow has been spotted there, along with Brown Thrashers. One of our favorite secret spots.
