Shorebirds, waterfowl. There have also been interesting songbirds, including Bell's Vireo and Dickcissel.

About this Location

Melco is a large impoundment that is dependent upon rainwater for shorebird and waterfowl habitat. New construction might limit that further, as drainage improvements may empty the basin before shorebirds can find it.

Notable Trails

There is a two-track along the top of the rectangular impoundment that can be used to walk (do not drive on this road).
