Maple Springs Wildlife Management Area (WMA) consists mainly of pitch pine and scrub oak forest with some white and red pine dispersed throughout. The WMA abuts privately owned cranberry bogs and contains some abandoned bogs as well.
There is a parking area off Maple Springs Road.
Being a management area of considerable size, this property provides ample opportunities for bird-watching, wildlife photography, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, wildlife tracking, and other such activities. Numerous rare moths, as well as the state-listed Eastern Whip-poor-will, live in the pitch pine-scrub oak woodlands.
