Pine River Pond is 3.5 miles in length and before current use, it originally was used as a power source for Mathes Mill at the outlet of the pond back in the early 1800s. The pond is now kept at its current level by the Arthur H. Fox Memorial Dam built back in 1977. Pine River Pond covers 594 acres, with its deepest spot at 62 feet off Boys Island. The mean depth of the pond is 15 feet. PRP is at an elevation of 584 feet above sea level.
