Pine River Pond is 3.5 miles in length and before current use, PRP originally was used as a power source for Mathes Mill at the outlet of the pond back in the early 1800s. The pond is now kept at its current level by the Arthur H. Fox Memorial Dam built back in 1977. PRP covers 594 acres, with its deepest spot at 62 feet off Boys Island. The mean depth of the pond is 15 feet. PRP is at an elevation of 584 feet above sea level.
Today the lake is used for fishing, skiing, swimming or just kicking back and watching a sunset from the sandbar. It can be busy on the weekends during the summer months.
