Manomet Cemetery was established in 1717 and contains the graves of many prominent citizens of the town, including some of the descendants of the Pilgrims who arrived on the Mayflower in 1620. The cemetery is also notable for its scenic views of Cape Cod Bay and its proximity to the site of the first encounter between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans.
