About this Location

Brookwood Community Farm is currently situated on two sites: within a 70-acre parcel of land in the Blue Hills Reservation, as well as within a 90-acre parcel of land at the Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate. The sites have been farmed for generations. Since 1994, the Blue Hill Reservation site has been maintained by the Department of Conservation and Recreation. The Bradley Estate is owned by the Trustees of Reservations.

In 2006, the farm was returned to production at the Blue Hills site with the founding of Brookwood Community Farm. An eight-member community-supported agriculture program was created to support farming activities utilizing 1 of the 70 acres. The farm expanded to a second site on the nearby Bradley Estate in Canton and, for a while, the Eustis Estate in Milton. Brookwood’s Community Supported Agriculture Program has grown to reach well over 250 families per season over the years.
