About this Location

The Mill Parcel Conservation Area, 4.2 acres, preserves the historic site of a former mill complex along the Mascoma River. The mill operated from the late 18th century until the early 20th century, producing various products such as lumber, paper, and woolen goods. The property was acquired by the City of Lebanon in 2002 as part of a wetland mitigation project, with a permanent protection easement held by the Upper Valley Land Trust. The property has views of the river and its confluence with the Connecticut River.

Visitors can access the property from either end of Mill Road or the Northern Rail Trail. Short paths lead from the Northern Rail Trail to picnic tables to the riverside historic site. The connector trail leads downhill to the Northern Rail Trail.

Parking is available on Mill Road just west of the US-4 and NH-4A junction. Please do not block the road.
