South Pond - Marlboro (68 acres)

Marlboro, Vermont 05301

About this Location

South Pond is surrounded by forests and fields and offers scenic views of the hills and mountains. The lake is a place of community and conservation, as it is owned and protected by two nonprofit organizations: the Ames Hill-Marlboro Community Center and the Whittemore-Paton Trust. These organizations aim to preserve the natural resources and ecology of the area, as well as provide facilities for social, recreational, and educational activities for their members and the local youth. South Pond is only open to Marlboro residents and their guests, which makes it a special and peaceful place to enjoy nature and connect with others.

South Pond (68 acres) is a site for the Vermont LoonWatch annual survey. Birders are encouraged to volunteer as often and whenever they are able. See Join LoonWatch for details.
