Pleasant Valley Pond is the source of drinking water for Brattleboro, and it is also a popular destination for hiking, birding, and walking. The pond is surrounded by forested hills and rocky outcrops, and it offers views of the West River and the nearby Black Mountain.

Pleasant Valley Pond (25 acres) is a site for the Vermont LoonWatch annual survey. Birders are encouraged to volunteer as often and whenever they are able. See Join LoonWatch for details.

The Pleasant Valley Reservoir Trail is an easy 1.8-mile out-and-back trail that follows the edge of the pond and ends at a clearing with a bench. The trail is well-maintained and suitable for all skill levels.
