Lake Willoughby is a natural lake that covers an area of 1653 acres and is the deepest lake in Vermont, reaching a maximum depth of 308 feet. The lake is known for its clear water, scenic beauty, and recreational opportunities. Lake Willoughby is also a National Natural Landmark, designated by the United States Department of the Interior in 1967 for its glacial features and rare plants.
