Birds of Interest

Black-legged Kittiwakes often bathing in the lakes during the summer. After the bath, they often sit on the lake shore, collecting mosses that they take back to their nests. Otherwise the common birds in the Faroese mountains, like Oystercatcher, Meadow Pipit, Northern Wheatear, Hooded Crow, Raven, etc. 

About this Location

Northern part of popular path between Tórshavn and Kirkjubøur. Relatively easy walking, but solid shoes recommended. Parking by the small river in the bottom of the valley. Follow the road up to the farm (NB: private farm), pass the farm, and continue in straight line across the field where the path is well visible. Often dogs running loose on the farm. Hotspot includes northern part of the path, where there is a plateau around the small lakes. Also other paths crosses the area. Black-legged Kittiwakes often bathing in the lakes during the summer.
