This is a big park. A favorite hike is Spicewood Springs Trail. Drive past headquarters to the boat ramp parking lot and follow the signs up river. 

 Bald Eagle, Zone-tailed Hawk, Golden-cheeked Warbler, Black-capped Vireo

Allow at least a half day to hike to Gorman Falls, to Gorman Creek and back to parking lot.
