Tips for Birding

This is a small park, so be thorough. This park is incredible during migration, but not very good during the summer or winter. The largest trees hold a majority of the warblers, vireos, orioles, flycatchers, etc.

Birds of Interest

Migrant warblers, vireos, flycatchers, orioles, grosbeaks, tanagers, etc. The peak time of year to bird this hotspot is April-May and September-October.

About this Location

Brison Park is a small city park that serves as a migrant trap. Large trees will contain most of the migrants.

There is a small and very vegetated path in the north side of the park. It is unmarked and can be hard to find. This path has uneven footing, poison ivy, dips and creeks, and wet areas. There can be very good birds back here, but there are environmental hazards.

There is a creek that bisects this park, and there is only one bridge in the middle of the park. The creek is easy to cross if you can hop across it, but not otherwise.

Parking is in the spots along the west side of the park.

Notable Trails

There is sidewalk along the edge of the park that crosses through the middle of the park as well.
