Blue Hills Reservoir was created in 1893 to supply water to the city of Boston and its suburbs. The reservoir covers an area of 194 acres and has a capacity of 1.7 billion gallons. The reservoir is surrounded by scenic trails and forests.

Located only minutes from the bustle of downtown Boston, the Blue Hills Reservation stretches over 7,000 acres from Quincy to Dedham, Milton to Randolph, providing a green oasis in an urban environment.
