Wompatuck State Park spans 3,526 acres of forest, streams, and ponds. The park has a campground, 12 miles of non-motorized roads, and 40 miles of forest trails. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities, including camping, biking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, and boating. The park is named after Josiah Wompatuck, a Native American chief who deeded the land to the English settlers in 1665. The park also has historical significance as a former ammunition depot during World War II. One of the most notable features of the park is Mount Blue Spring, which is a popular source of fresh drinking water for visitors.
