The beach neighbors the Colonel Green property, where a mansion built in 1921 by Ned Green, son of Henrietta “Hetty” Howland Green, stands. Hetty Green, better known as the “Witch of Wall Street,” was a New Bedford native and the wealthiest woman in the world during the Gilded Age.
