The Norwottuck Rail Trail is a 10.6-mile paved multi-use path that runs through the towns of Northampton, Hadley, Amherst, and Belchertown. The trail follows the former Boston and Maine Railroad line that was abandoned in 1984. The trail offers scenic views of the Connecticut River, the Holyoke Range, and the historic Norwottuck Bridge. The trail is open year-round for walking, biking, rollerblading, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The trail is wheelchair accessible and has several parking areas and restrooms along the way.
