McAfee Road is a good place to view birds from your vehicle. The road is not heavily traveled, so there is plenty of time to stop along the way. There is a marshy area about a half mile down the road (on the right-hand side if you enter the road from Overton). Watch for Phoebes, Wood Ducks, and Pileated Woodpeckers there. On the side of the road, in the grassy area, during migration you may find Golden-Crowned Kinglets (viewed from my vehicle with binoculars). No scope is necessary.
McAfee Road parallels Overton Road in Wayne County near Wooster. The roads in this area traverse private lands. Please view birds from the roadside only.
