Tips for Birding

If you are going to park on the beach you need to buy a parking permit. They cost $12 and are available from convenience stores and other places in Port Aransas. There are portable toilets available.

Birds of Interest

There are always Laughing Gulls. Often you can see Brown Pelicans soaring along the Dunes. Check the Gull flocks for Ringbilled and Herring Gulls, Royal, Caspian, Black and Forster's Terns. You can also see Oystercatchers and Black Skimmers.You can also see Sanderlings, Ruddy Turstones, Peeps, Willets and other shorebirds.

About this Location

If you are going towards Port Aransas turn at Beach Road 2 past Mustang Island State Park. This hotspot ends/starts about at Cinnamon Shores South.
