Tips for Birding

Small park at the smaller spillway from the Lake Waco Dam. There is parking near the spillway and you can walk along the trees. It is not recommended to try and get to the river bank. Fishermen do, but it's treacherous going. Plus the banks are all rock so you aren't going to see any shore birds there. Looking into the spillway itself is done along the fence line.

At the other end of the park is a wooded area with some table and a launch for kayaks. This can be birdy.

Birds of Interest

Great Blue Herons, Northern Rough-winged Swallows. Migrants.
