About this Location

Pequot Pond is a 155-acre Great Pond, and the largest, of a small complex of waterbodies located off Route 202 in Westfield and Southampton, commonly called Hampton Ponds. Pequot Pond has an average depth of 12 feet and a maximum of 31 feet, and the waters are typically transparent to between 10 and 12 feet. The pond bottom is primarily sand and gravel, aquatic vegetation is sparse and the shores are heavily developed with houses.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation manages a concrete ramp and adjacent parking area suitable for 15 trailers within Hampton Ponds State Park located off US-202 in Westfield on the southern shore of the pond. There is no fee to access the ramp. Shoreline access is limited to Hampton Ponds State Park lands. If accessing Pequot Pond through the state park a parking fee may apply.
