Start early, even before sunrise. Walk through the trails watching and listening for migrating songbirds in late April and throughout May. Watch for fall migrants in late August and throughout September. A number of songbirds nest in the wooded area during the breeding season.
Warblers, vireos, thrushes and more.
The local name for the wooded area along Christina Street is Tarzanland. From the main entrance at the intersection of Cathcart and Christina, keep left and select a parking spot immediately after entering the Park. As you enter the wooded area stay to the right of the Carolinian Forest sign and continue into the woods. Watch for standing water to your right about 200 meters from the parking area. Concentrate your search for warblers and other songbirds along the wet areas. Washrooms are available at the Children's Animal Farm.
