About this Location

The Springfield Water Sewer Commission Pond, also known as Watershops Pond, is a 67-acre reservoir that is part of the Mill River watershed and serves as a backup water supply for the city. The pond was created in 1848 by damming the Mill River to provide water power for the Springfield Armory. 

Springfield Water Sewer Commission Pond is on Granville Road adjacent to Cook Brook.
