Fort Point Channel is a waterway that separates South Boston from the downtown area of Boston. It was created in the 19th century by filling in part of the Boston Harbor to create more land for industrial development. The channel is spanned by several bridges, including the Congress Street Bridge and the Northern Avenue Bridge. The channel is also home to several cultural and historical attractions, such as the Boston Children's Museum, the Boston Tea Party Museum, and the Boston Fire Museum.
