Eastern Whip-poor-Will, Prairie Warbler, Field Sparrow, American Woodcock, Blue-winged Warbler.
The Muddy Brook Wildlife Management Area, bisected by Patrill Hollow Road, supports a mosaic of upland oak-hickory woodlands, fire-influenced sand barren communities, and acidic shrub marshes. Muddy Brook is a regionally important landscape for the conservation of highly specialized and often imperiled species, and MassWildife is currently undertaking large-scale habitat management efforts to restore the fire-influenced natural communities that support these species.
Muddy Brook is open to the public for non-motorized outdoor recreation including birdwatching, hiking, hunting, and fishing. Parking is available off Patrill Hollow Road and Muddy Brook Road.
