This causeway is one of the few locations to view the central part of the reservoir and the Cedar Creek Islands rookeries just south of the causeway. There are a couple of restaurant parking areas they are the safest locations to set up scopes. The restaurants are in a out of being open for business.

The Cedar Creek Islands Wildlife Management Area is comprised of three islands totaling 160 acres in Cedar Creek Reservoir, Henderson County. The WMA is heavily used as rookeries by aquatic birds and should not be disturbed during spring or summer.
