About this Location

Alburgh Lakeshore Park protects the undeveloped Lake Champlain shoreline and provides users with access to Lake Champlain. When improvements are made along the East Alburgh Recreational Rail Trail, it will provide cyclists and walkers easy access to connect from the Village of Alburgh parking lot to Lake Champlain right through the Mud Creek Waterfowl Area. Alburgh Lakeshore Park is located just south of the VT-78 bridge.

From the South: Take I-89 north, take Exit 21, and turn left onto VT-78 West toward US-7 and Swanton. At the T-intersection with US-7, turn right and follow Grand Avenue through town (the road will turn into Depot Street). At the stop sign, take a right onto North River Street. Follow this road for about 7 miles. Cross the bridge over the lake and take the first left after the bridge onto East Alburgh Road. Follow this road and take another left continuing on East Alburgh Road. Follow this road a short distance take your first left and follow the road around a large curve. This road will dead-end at the parking lot of Alburgh Lakeshore Park.

From northern New York: Take US-2 East and cross the bridge to Vermont. Turn left onto VT-78 East and follow for 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Town Highway 13 and follow this road straight and around a large curve. This road will dead-end at the parking lot of Alburgh Lakeshore Park.
