Tips for Birding

From a birder's perspective, McCormick Park is an average city park with lawn and trees and without surface water. Over the past decade, storms and time have taken their toll on trees in the park, reducing the number. As of 2024 the city is planning to improve the park with more trees, hard surface paths, a community garden, water harvesting and a pollinator garden. From being a shadow of its former self, it may return as a ray of birding sunshine.
