Birds of Interest

Waders, like Golden Plover, Oystercatcher and Whimbrel are common in the area. Often Arctic Jaeger in the area. Occasional visits by Eurasian Curlew and Black-tailed Godwit. Also traditionally a colony of various gulls in the area.

About this Location

Hotspot with waders, like Golden Plover and Whimbrel. Often Arctic Jaeger in the area. Occasional visits by Eurasian Curlew and Black-tailed Godwit. Also traditionally a colony of various Gulls in the area.  Most birds are easily seen from the old Loran C station (star and P in map image). The Loran C mast itself has now been dismantled.

Please stick to the roads.

All roads are quite narrow, but short-term parking possibilities a few sites along the main road.
