Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery

Tips for Birding

Coming from Raymondville, one would encounter the western entrance first which would be a road running north-south. Depending on whether you are birding in the morning or afternoon might dictate which direction you want to travel on this road.

The largest trees are on the northern edge of the cemetery and provide the most cover for woodland species and migrating birds of seasonal interest.

If a sprinkler is running on a plot, be sure to watch the water for birds.

Occasionally, family members will keep bird seed and hummingbird feeders filled so watch for these possiblities

Birds of Interest

Migrating passerines in season. Woodland species year round such as Golden-fronted and Ladder-backed Woodpeckers.

About this Location

This is a city-maintained cemetery with nice paved roads.

Benches have been placed by family members throughout the cemetery which allows for sitting and waiting for birds to come closer. These benches also make a nice place to have a picnic lunch while birding.

Many family members will water the grass on a plot providing good grass and water for the birds.

Notable Trails

There are no "official" ADA trails but the roads in the cemetery are flat, level and paved making them likely suitable for wheelchairs or scooters.
