Bellmere Winds Golf Club

Tips for Birding

Driving Villiers Line slowly and finding a location to safely pull off the road around midway down the hill to Godfrey Rd. will afford views of both the golf course lands and the dry pastures to the west.

Birds of Interest

Eastern Meadowlark, Bobolink and Grasshopper Sparrow may be both heard and observed in the dry livestock pasture on the west side of Villiers Line. For a number of years at least one pair of Red-headed Woodpeckers has nested on the Bellemere Winds golf course and both adults and family groups are occasionally observed from Villiers Line. Orchard Oriole has been recorded at least once at the south end of Villiers Line.

About this Location

Bellemere Winds Golf Club is located at the south end of Villiers Line around 2 km south of the community of Villiers on CR 2. The hotspot covers both sides of Villiers Line from golf club entrance to the bottom of the hill where Villiers Line becomes Godfrey Rd, a distance of just under a kilometre. Access to the golf course itself is restricted to club members and their guests, but the course can be viewed from Villiers Line. The west side of Villiers Line is dry livestock pasture. Note views of Rice Lake are no longer possible, as a passkey gate has recently been installed at the south end of Villiers Line where it meets Godfrey Rd.
