Important Bird Area.
In eastern Hardin Co. Go east on Hwy. 175 one mile from its intersection with Hwy. 215 in Eldora, to S-56. The southwest end of the Lower Lake is 1/4 mile north on S-56. Turning right here, a boat launch is a short distance; continuing northward instead leads to a beach area at the northwest corner of the lake. Upper lake: Continue north on this road from the beach area a little more than half a mile, to a campground and other accesses at the south end of the long, narrow Upper Lake.
