There are two main parking areas. One is on the north side of the Soccer Complex (closest to the park entrance) and the other further down the road, south of the soccer complex. Both are ample, but during soccer season on weekends, parking can be difficult. Plan your day accordingly.
During October, preparations take place for the Halloween event at the park, and trails access from the south parking lot may be restricted due to construction.

Louisville Loop
Prairie Preserve Trail (1.15 miles, easy) is a gravel trail that extends from the south parking lot, across a bridge spanning Floyd's Fork (this part of the trail is paved and part of the Louisville Loop), around the eastern edge of the Prairie Preserve (actually hay fields; this is not a habitat restoration project presently), ending at the southern tip of Pope Lick Park where it meets the Louisville Loop. Turn right to return to your parking lot.
Big Beech Trail (1.57 miles, moderate) is signposted off the Prairie Preserve Trail and meanders through a mixed hardwood forest. It's a loop trail that ends a bit further south on the Prairie Preserve Trail. This trail can be slippery when muddy; take precautions or avoid when wet. This is a footpath with stream crossings, roots, and rocks, but it is wide enough not to worry about brushing up against plants along the way.
