Pinery PP--Riverside Campground

Tips for Birding

Walk through the active and inactive areas of the campground from early October through the winter until late April. During the main part of camping season, birding by ear early in the morning may be the most appropriate.

Birds of Interest

Songbirds and waterfowl. Chickadee, nuthatch and Tufted Titmouse around feeders. Whip-poor-will may be heard at dusk from late May to late June.

About this Location

The Riverside Campground is open throughout the entire year. Some winter campers will hang feeders or drop seed on the ground to attract birds. From October through April, you can park at the Camp Store and cross the road to access the campground on foot. Do not confuse the Riverside Campground with the Riverside Trail.
