Cedar Swamp Road is a roadside birding destination within Pachaug State Forest. The Cedar Swamp Cemetery can also be found on this road.

Pachaug State Forest is the largest State Forest in Connecticut encompassing 26,477 acres, in 6 towns: Voluntown, Sterling, Plainfield, Griswold, North Stonington, and Preston. There are two areas, the Chapman Area and the Green Falls Area.
