Bring a scope to scan the lake for gulls, American White and Brown Pelicans, cormorants, and other water birds. Look for land birds across the fence in the adjacent park area.
Bald Eagle, Osprey, Brown and American White Pelicans, Neotropic and Double-crested Cormorants, herons and egrets.
Road entrance is just east of Browder's Marina (gas and store) on FM* 3278. Entire site is asphalt paved.
Access to dam area is restricted. Access to park area beyond fence west of overlook is by day pass, available for purchase at the Browder's store.
*FM stands for Farm-to-Market Highway. An FM road is a road in a rural area that is maintained by the State of Texas. FM roads will usually be busier than a county road but will also be better maintained than a county road.
